Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! *Sigh* Although 2005 ended sadly I hope that the coming year will be good....

My mom purchased a sea kayak yesterday (surprisingly she didn't take months to decide)...she bought a 16 foot bright red Nighthawk that's made of carbonlite (basically that means it's indestructible and my mom can paddle it onto the beach and not damage it whereas with a fiberglass kayak she'd have to carry it onto shore)...but it's really nice...we'll pick it up on Monday :)

Lazy afternoon....took a nice long nap....then we had a fancy dinner and Susan came over around 8:30 to join us for peppermint pie (very tasty)....Susan and I chatted for awhile with my parents and then we snacked on tortilla chips, sparkling grape juice, and watched The Island....I was actually pretty impressed with the movie....Ewan McGregor was really good....and the action scenes were amazing if also a little unbelieveable....my only complaint with the movie was the ending....

...Okay....I get the whole happy ending idea....but what happened to the thousands of people standing on top of the hill....do they go to 'the island'?....do the swarming helicopters above just take them all out?....do they share ssn's with their sponsors for ever and ever?....do they create a new person and live out their life?....*sigh*....I don't like open endings....I don't want to imagine how it goes because usually I imagine that it ends badly....ah well....

Anyways, it was good to catch up with Susan....our New Year's Eve sleepovers are becoming tradition now :) But now it's time to get to bed....
